Total weight lost: 31kg

I have always had a problem with my weight but when I broke my left knee and hip in a motorcycle accident it became a real problem. I was in constant pain; I couldn’t walk very well and turned to comfort eating. My weight ballooned and I ended up weighing 156kg. I also developed sleep apnoea and required a machine to help me sleep.

My doctors recommended a gastric by-pass operation, which I thought would be the end of my problems and the start of a new life with no weight issues. I had the operation in 2010, and once I was released from hospital, the weight started to drop off me. I thought for a brief moment that this was finally it. I could live a good life. I lost nearly 60kg in the year following the surgery.

Unfortunately, complacency started to kick in and my bad eating habits took over making the weight creep back on. I tried and failed with other diets, and started to believe I would never lose weight.

By 2016, I was back up to 113kg. My daughter got married and when I saw the photos of myself at the wedding, I was shocked. I knew I had to do something.

I met a wonderful person, my Consultant, Krisanne, who told me about the diet and at first I was sceptical but she convinced me that I should at least try it. I lost 3kg in the first week and the motivation from Krisanne on that day made me keep coming back. 9 months later, I had lost 31.8kg.

Cambridge Weight Plan has changed my life. I feel great! I am fitter and healthier than I have been since before my accident. I am totally convinced that the reason this has worked so well is the constant support from my wonderful Consultant, Krisanne. I look forward to going to see her and her support has meant so much to me.
